NOW SHE IS 50, THE STAR REFLECTS ON HER CHANGING ATTITUDE TO AGE
'IT'S A bea utiful THI NG'

While some people fret about getting older, the opposite is true for Penélope Cruz, who turned 50 last week. In a recent interview with Elle, the Oscar-winning actress explained that she had more issues with her age when she was younger.

"People have been asking me about age since I was 20-something," she said. "I was more bothered then than now.

"Now it makes more sense, to discuss turning 50. It's a huge, beautiful thing, and I really want to celebrate that with all my friends. It means I'm here and I'm healthy, and it's a reason to have a party."

It seems Cruz has come around to the prospect of having a big bash to mark her 50th. In an earlier interview with the Los Angeles Times, she wasn't so keen on the idea.

"I'm always worrying about everything," she said. "So I don't think I could worry anymore because of turning 50. All my friends are preparing me, like, 'You are going to be forced to do a party this time... Maybe I have to learn."
